Phirst Steps is a workshop that teaches the fundamentals of professionalism and etiquette. We recognize the need in our community for young Black students to learn how to interact with professionals, and we will equip them with the necessary interpersonal skills to do so. In our workshop, we will cover how to tie a tie, how to write emails to interviewers or work colleagues, and how to behave in a work luncheon or meal. Through our efforts, we hope to provide some guidance to students on how to best approach a professional environment, and start their professional careers with the foundations soft skills to succeed.
