Martin Luther King Jr Vigil

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s MLK Vigil is held every year to celebrate the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his day. For this event, we begin by meeting a crowd at the steps of Dartmouth Hall, and reciting a poem that exemplifies the values that he fought for. During the recitation, we will hand out small, electronic candles to attendees, then we will march (walk peacefully) to Shabazz Mural room. Once there, we will begin the programming by playing a short video about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and we will end with a discussion of the state of Dartmouth with prevalent social issues.
